The Virginian Hotel is a web design project I undertook at IdeaWork Studio for client Curio. The purpose of splash page design is to notice people the upcoming hotel opening in the town before the official site launch, and to collect mailing list. I am responsible for designing the splash page user interface before the launch of official website.
The Virginian, a luxury boutique hotel owned by Curio — a Collection by Hilton brand, was built in 1913 and for half a century served as a luxury hotel will open in Spring 2018. The Virginian aims to be a full-service hotel, offering six-story, 115 guest rooms in addition to a restaurant and bar, roof-top lounge and coffee shop. It is a $25 million Hilton Curio branded Virginian Hotel restoration project.
Take invitation card as inspiration, I created a evenly divided interface that has the hotel rendering on the left and the message on the right. The graphic pattern was inspired from the hotel architecture, and was used behind the text to elevate its appealing. The text is center-aligned to create an elegant and exclusive feelings. The interface design contains brief hotel intro, contact information and a sign-up newsletters link to keep the users posted before the official website launch.
